AI-assisted · The proven scenario method

See the futures your strategy has to survive.

Traditional planning bets the company on a single forecast — and uncertainty is what breaks it. Scenario planning makes uncertainty the raw material: four rigorous futures instead of one fragile forecast, a strategy tested against all of them, and the signposts that tell you which world is arriving. It is how the world's most enduring companies have planned for fifty years.

A real methodology, not a chat box

Nine structured stages, in the order the method demands. The AI drafts each step from your sources; you challenge and refine every judgment. Scenarios describe how the world may develop — never best case, worst case, or a forecast.

Ground

Stages 1–2

Feed in annual reports, filings, or notes. The AI reconstructs the business idea — the causal loop by which the organisation creates and captures value.

Explore

Stages 3–6

Surface driving forces, separate the predetermined from the truly uncertain, choose two critical uncertainty axes, and write four plausible future worlds.

Test

Stage 7

Wind-tunnel the strategy through all four worlds: which options are robust everywhere, which are contingent, which quietly bet everything on one future.

Decide & watch

Stages 8–9

Set early-warning signposts with thresholds and lead times, and assemble a strategy architecture: act now, hold with trigger, avoid.

Walk away with a board-ready report

Every paid analysis exports as a clean, publication-grade PDF: executive findings, the business idea loop, driving forces, the 2×2 uncertainty matrix, four scenario narratives with dated causal chains, wind-tunnel results, and a monitoring register of signposts. Every paid pack also exports an editable Word report and a PowerPoint deck built for presenting.

  • Executive summary — findings first
  • Four plausible worlds, told as histories of the future
  • Robust / contingent / fragile verdict on every strategy option
  • A research agenda: the questions your team should answer next
  • Signposts with thresholds, sources, and lead times

Embrace uncertainty

Uncertainty breaks plans. It powers scenarios.

A traditional plan treats uncertainty as a risk to be argued away — every surprise is a threat to the forecast underneath it. Scenario planning does the opposite: it uses what you cannot know to build futures you can prepare for. The question stops being "what will happen?" and becomes "what would we do if?" — a question a strategy can actually answer.

Test your plan

Put your current strategy through the wind tunnel: every option, tested in all four futures. You learn which moves pay everywhere, which are bets on one world — and which quietly assume the future will look like the past.

Make it robust

Rebuild the plan as a strategy architecture that survives different futures: commit now to what pays in every world, hold contingent moves behind named triggers with lead times, and avoid the options that only work if the forecast comes true.

Discover new options

Each future generates challenger strategies no planning offsite would surface — moves that win in worlds you had not imagined. The best of them earn a place in the plan; the method tells you which.

Where the method comes from

The method that saw the oil shock coming.

Scenario planning was forged at Shell in the early 1970s, where Pierre Wack's planners stopped forecasting the oil price and asked instead what would have to change for cheap, stable oil to end. When the 1973 shock came, Shell's managers had already rehearsed that world rather than meeting it cold. Nothing about that logic was specific to oil — it works whenever the forces that decide your future are genuinely uncertain and outside your control.

Simple pricing, per analysis

One Full Scenario Planning Analysis = one organisation through all nine stages. You are never charged per prompt: every paid analysis includes about two complete passes, so rewriting your framing, re-running a stage, and adjusting the axes all come out of the same credit.

Analyses

One credit takes one organisation through all nine stages. A five-pack means five separate projects — not five reports of the same one.

Source documents

Annual reports, filings and strategy papers are read directly by the model. Larger packs let you ground it in more, and longer, evidence — up to 1,000 pages a project, and a single document may use the whole allowance, so a full annual report goes in unsplit.

Deliverables

Every paid pack exports the lot: PDF, Markdown, a fully editable Word report for your own letterhead, and a PowerPoint deck for presenting the four worlds live.

Educators, trainers & consultants: shared pools

Buy seats, share one access code — everyone in the seminar redeems it and gets two scenario projects. Works for a university course, a corporate workshop, or a client team.
